El Muiz Street & Khan El Khalili
Khan el-Khalili is a famous bazaar and souq in the historic center of Cairo, Egypt. Established as a center of trade in the Mamluk era and named for one of its several historic caravanserais, the bazaar district has since become one of Cairo’s main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike.
Khan Al-Khalili is distinguished by the large number of its shops adjacent to each other in a very familiarity, in which everything the tourist wants to buy from Cairo is sold, starting with the imitation Pharaonic artifacts with great accuracy, passing through the copper works and arabesques that catch the eye when you fall on them, ending with gowns and instead of belly dancing. Which attracts tourists of all nationalities to buy one or more pieces of it, and silver shops that include the finest silver works that you will only find in Khan Al-Khalili and are very popular with Arab and foreign tourists. Leather and copper products have a special place in the khan that is not only visited by tourists, but it is considered one of the destinations of the actors who come to the khan to buy the historical clothes and accessories that they appear in the historical works, such as swords, copper helmets and belts.
Goods are displayed in the khan in the style that distinguished old Cairo, where the markets were adjacent to each other and the lanes were filled with shops offering the same goods at varying prices.
